KMZ Apartment | Vallo Sadovsky | Architecture

Apartment for young couple

The KMZ Apartment reconstruction meant foremost a radical
intervention into the flat's layout. For a young couple, who's life no
longer takes place in front of the TV, the space of a working-living kitchen
becomes dominant. The rest of the apartment unfolds from a large table and
the chandelier in the center of this large, light-filled space. It's longest
wall is dominated by a colorful wall printed rooster. Simplicity and
elegance of the kitchen right below reminds of living room cabinets. Behind
the interactive shelf wall on the opposite side lies the bedroom.

The atmosphere of a flat is more than by its layout defined
by the combination of colors and materials. Here the contrast of simple
inexpensive solutions and pieces of refined design makes the trick. The
original masonry painted white is cut at it's base to float above the large-format
wooden floor interconnecting the whole flat.

The exclusive kitchen rises from the floor in contrast to the simple
bookcase of white shelves opposite. The large dining table made of water-resistant
plywood is surrounded by a colorful flock of design chairs. The entrance to
the mostly white interior is eaten by a brown-black wardrobe block. Strictly
monochromatic bathroom is lit through a colorfully printed vertical skylight.
